Not only those who have ever flown over Germany by plane and enjoyed this indescribable sight will be pleased that thanks to this relief map in scales of 1:1,200,000 or 1:2,400,000 it is now possible to share such unique moments at home or with friends.
Anyone who has ever given away one of our three-dimensional cards will know that this gift will quickly “escalate” into a full-length program item. Suddenly the past holidays are traced with the finger on the map, for example, the train journey with the Harzer Schmalspurbahn on the Brocken in the Harz, the view from the Schauinsland over the foggy sea of the Rhine Graben to the Vosges or the bicycle tour along with the seemingly endless loops of the Moselle. Thanks to the map’s elevation by a factor of 6 (large format), even the Harburg “mountains” near Hamburg can be felt.
Tips and suggestions for your stay in the region can be found here:
As a country in the heart of Europe, Germany has more to offer than just a historical past. Its incredible diversity of landscapes is often underestimated.
From spectacular rock formations to lush green pastures to endless deep lakes and wide seas, it offers a much larger repertoire than many a neighboring country.
In the north, the rough coastal region offers the famous steep coast and the excursion destination Königsstuhl. It alternates with white Baltic beaches and undulating grasslands and heathlands. On the North Sea, the Wadden Sea impresses with ebb and flow. This is followed by large, well-known and colorful cities such as Hamburg, Bremen, and Berlin.
A little further south you reach the northern foothills of the Sauerland, Weserbergland, Harz, Erzgebirge, and Zittau mountains. Here you will find attractive travel destinations such as the Teufelsmauer (Harz, Saxony-Anhalt) or the Rabensteiner Felsendome (Erzgebirge, Saxony).
From this line, dreamy low mountain ranges like Thuringian Forest, Rhön, Taunus, Eifel, Palatinate Forest, Vogtland, Saxon Switzerland, Fichtelgebirge, Black Forest, Swabian Alb, and Bavarian Forest alternate with sunny wine-growing regions of Mosel, Saale, Elbe, Neckar, and Rhine. Many famous natural sights can be found here: e.g. the Saalfeld fairy grottos – a stalactite cave in Thuringia. Or the highest waterfall in Germany: in the small town of Triberg in the Black Forest (Baden-Württemberg). Also, the legendary Blautopf See on the Swabian Alb is always worth a visit.
From the Danube, the landscape calms down once more before it reaches its crowning and outstanding conclusion with the Alps.
It doesn’t matter which natural spectacle you prefer, one thing is certain: you’ll find it in the heart of Germany.
