The small country in Eastern Europe is often referred to as the Switzerland of the East. That the comparison is not so far-fetched becomes obvious when one looks from Poprad at the forested mountain ranges of the Low Tatras in the south and the majestic high mountain peaks of the High Tatras in the north. The flora and fauna are more remarkable. Even today, wolf, bear, moose and many other rarities roam the forests in extensive areas of the country.
