The longest current flowing through Germany has given the state its name. On its way to the North Sea, the Rhine and its left tributary the Moselle have created ideal conditions for the cultivation of fine wines. Early in history, the nobility appreciated the region’s privileged location. The many villas and castles in the region still bear witness to this today. The Nürburgring with its major international events is also a figurehead of the region.
