The landscapes of Hessen are characterized by rolling hills from Odenwald and Taunus in the south, the volcanic Vogelsberg and the Rhön to Kaufunger Wald and Rothaar Mountains in the north. In the midst of all this, the Main, Fulda, Weser and Co rivers with their water-rich network have done a master’s work and created a multitude of lovely valleys and plains. It is thanks to them that inhabitants and visitors of the federal state can forget the stress and hectic pace of the metropolises and let themselves be pampered right down to the core.
